On last week’s Raw, Andrade appeared with Zelina Vega and the former NXT Champion defeated Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor in a non-title match on his debut for the red brand. The following night, Finn Balor was drafted to Smackdown, putting an end to any potential plans for a future feud between the two talented performers.
However, after it was reported that Charlotte Flair was unhappy at being separated from her boyfriend Andrade, he and Zelina Vega made their way back to Smackdown Live. It was also reported that FOX had specifically requested that WWE move Andrade back to Smackdown ahead of their move to the network in October 2019. In his return to the blue brand, Andrade once again faced Finn Balor in a non-title match, this time with Balor picking up the win.
This made the prospect of a mouth-watering Balor vs. Andrade feud more likely, especially after the Andrade cut a promo on his opponent before their match saying he wanted to “destroy the myth of Finn Balor”. Balor would respond to Andrade in a video posted to WWE’s YouTube channel.
Now with Balor and Andrade both having a win over each other, could we be seeing a series of matches between the two former NXT Champions, possibly over the Intercontinental Championship? If their TV matches have been anything to go by, a pay-per-view bout between the two could be fantastic.
