Possible Reason WWE Pulled Planned Match From Extreme Rules

Here are possible reasons WWE has seemingly pulled a match planned from today’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view and it’ll instead be happening next SmackDown.

Over the last few weeks, Jeff Hardy and Sheamus have been embroiled in a program focused on Hardy’s past addiction issues that has made a lot of people feel pretty uncomfortable watching.

A couple of weeks ago, it was announced that the two would engage in a bar fight, and most people thought this would be happening at the Horror Show at Extreme Rules.

There are a couple of rumours doing the rounds as to why that’s not happening. The first is that Sheamus has not been at TV tapings recently, and might still not be ready to travel today. You may remember the ‘Toast to Jeff Hardy’ segment ended up being delayed by a week and when it did happen he still only appeared on the tron.

The second is a rumour that WrestlingNews.co has noted is circulating, which could be that WWE is simply using the match to increase TV ratings for SmackDown, as it is doing by holding an unsanctioned match on Monday’s Raw between Big Show and Randy Orton, another bout most people thought would be happening tonight.

Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for any more news and notes regarding today’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view, and keep an eye out for a our live coverage of the show later tonight.
