It has been reported over the last week that Abadon suffered a pretty serious injury at the most recent AEW Dynamite tapings. Now, that match has been edited out of this week’s show.
Abadon said she “couldn’t breathe” after taking an elbow to the throat during her match with Tay Conti. She had to go to the hospital afterwards and it was reportedly a scary scene.
Dave Meltzer is reporting that the match will not make air. Instead, a replacement match likely involving Shawn Spears will take place on the show. This would have been Abadon’s first match on Dynamite since her Dynamite debut on June 11. AEW has yet to confirm that the match has been pulled from the show.
This week’s show will continue the build to the Full Gear pay per view, which is set to take place on November 7.
The rest of the card for AEW Dynamite looks like this:
- TNT Championship Lumberjack Match – Cody (c) vs. Orange Cassidy
- AEW Championship Tournament Eliminator – Kenny Omega vs. Penta El Zero M
- AEW Championship Tournament Eliminator – Hangman Page vs. Wardlow
- Inner Circle Town Hall Meeting to discuss MJF joining the group
UPDATE: This has since been confirmed by AEW.
