On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez noted that it is unlikely that Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax drop the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at TLC this weekend.
The pair noted that it appears as if Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott, following their win over Natalya and Billie Kay on SmackDown, are being “groomed” to be the next challengers for the titles as we head into 2021.
At TLC this weekend, Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax will defend their Women’s Tag Team titles against Asuka and a mystery opponent. This comes after the pair wrote Lana off TV on the go-home episode of Raw this week.
With regards to who Asuka is likely going to be tagging with on Sunday night, it has been speculated that a major WWE star is going to be returning at the show to be part of the match. You can read more about that by clicking here.
While it is always possible that Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott challenge Asuka and her mystery opponent, it would make more sense for them to challenge the heel team of Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax, os it’s likely that Baszler and Jax retain.
