Potential future plans for the Dark Side Of The Ring series have now been revealed, with the show creators currently working on another project.
The show’s co-creators and producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener are teaming up with Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions and Vice Studios Canada for the upcoming series ‘Tales From The Territories’. This new show will premiere on VICE TV on October 4.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that another series of Dark Side of the Ring hasn’t been greenlit yet, but indicated that the show will likely return next year:
“Regarding Dark Side of the Ring, obviously there is no series in 2022 because they are going to do with Dwayne Johnson collaboration on the territories starting in October. They have also added at least one two-hour documentary on the schedule for later this year.
“The idea of Dark Side of the Ring in 2023 has not been greenlit as of last week, but we’re told the odds are for the show to be brought back since it is the most popular series in the history of the station and the Owen Hart episode remains the most-watched show the station has ever had. There has been some early work done with the idea of Dark Side in 2023.”
The third season of Dark Side Of The Ring aired from May to October 2021, and covered topics including the ‘Plane Ride from Hell’ and the WWE steroid trials.
WWE is reportedly cooperating with certain people attached to the Tales From The Territories series.
