Earlier today, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp provided an update on the men’s SmackDown team on his subscription portion of Select. Now, Sapp has posted another update about the women’s team.
Based on this past Wednesday’s NXT show, many assumed that Rhea Ripley may be destined to be a part of Team SmackDown after losing her match for the NXT Women’s Championship against Io Shirai. However, Sapp is reporting if she is joining the team it will not happen tonight.
Additionally, if it does happen, then it will most likely mean WWE changed their minds from their original plans. As of today, the plans were for two other women to join the team on tonight’s episode of SmackDown.
According to the report, Natalya and Bayley are slated to be the final two members. Of course, WWE has certainly been known to change plans at the last minute.
We should find out tonight who will complete the team. As always, WrestleTalk will have live coverage of WWE SmackDown.
