Advertising for an upcoming WWE event has potentially spoiled Cody Rhodes’ return to the ring.
Rhodes last wrestled at Hell in a Cell on June 5, defeating Seth Rollins with a torn pectoral muscle. He was written off TV the next night on Raw, after an attack from Rollins.
It was originally reported that Rhodes was expected to be out of action for nine months however the Scotiabank Arena has advertised Cody Rhodes for the August 22 Raw taping.
Per a tweet shared on August 8 (three days ago at the time of writing), Cody Rhodes face Seth Rollins at the Toronto, Canada taping.
WWE hasn’t announced Rhodes return, nor is Rhodes featured on the graphic for the taping suggesting that the announcement could’ve been a mistake, however the tweet hasn’t been deleted as of writing. The Scotiabank Arena, Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes haven’t commented on the announcement.
Rhodes did recently take to Twitter with a cryptic post, asking:
What’s next?
Cody Rhodes recently provided an update on his recovery during San Diego Comic Con, which you can read more about right here.
