Potential WWE Signing Contract Update After Returning To Former Company WWE

There has been an update on a potential WWE signing’s contract status after making an unexpected return to their former company.

Ever since his TNA Wrestling contract expired in March, the future of Alex Hammerstone has been the subject of speculation regarding a potential switch to WWE.

While Hammerstone has fed into this on social media, it has been reported that WWE do have an interest in the 34-year-old.

Amid the uncertainty Hammerstone made his return to his former home of Major League Wrestling last night (April 5), during their Battle Riot VII event in Long Beach, CA, entering in the event’s titular battle royal match type.

Despite having the chance to reclaim the MLW World Heavyweight Championship, Hammerstone did not win the match, as former WWE star Matt Riddle instead outlasted 39 others to retain his title.

Prior to Hammerstone’s appearance, Fightful Select reported that he has not signed a new contract with MLW, so as of now he is still a free agent.

Hammerstone previously enjoyed a highly successful five-year run in the promotion, which saw him hold the MLW World Heavyweight Championship for 644 days.

Following his MLW return, Hammerstone took to Twitter to react to a face-off between he and former WWE star Chris Adonis, writing:

We will provide further updates on Hammerstone’s future as more information becomes available.
