The pandemic has thrown the wrestling world out of whack. One of the many examples of this has been the status of WrestleMania 36 and 37. This year’s show was meant to take place in Tampa Bay but obviously, that didn’t happen.
The 2021 show was scheduled to air from Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium on March 28. However, it is now being reported by Inside The Ropes that the event will air from Tampa Bay. The report states that WWE has locked down venues in Tampa Bay for WrestleMania weekend, meaning a change of plans is likely in the works. It was also not clear if the date for the event would remain the same.
It did not say what this will mean for Los Angeles as far as hosting a WrestleMania. If everything just gets shifted back an extra year, perhaps LA will get their show in 2022. However, that is merely speculation. No venue or host city has been officially announced for WrestleMania 38 so we will have to wait and see to know for sure.
WrestleMania 36 aired across two nights and emanated from the Performance Center. While obviously very different from any other match in its lineage, the show was generally well received.
