WWE Stars Say The New Day Ruined Their Lives & Maybe Kofi Kingston’s Injury Was Karma WWE

WWE stars say The New Day ruined their lives and believe Kofi Kingston’s injury was karma.

At the end of 2022, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day made their way to NXT to challenge Pretty Deadly for the NXT Tag Team Championships.

The New Day became grand slam tag team champions by defeating Kit Wilson and Elton Prince for the titles at NXT Deadline last December.

However, Woods and Kingston lost the gold in a four-way match to Gallus at NXT Vengeance Day 2023 with the end of their reign marking a conclusion to their run on the brand.

Speaking with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald, Pretty Deadly were asked to discuss their experience working with The New Day. Noting that it was an honor to work with the legendary duo, Kit Wilson said:

“Yes, technically it’s an honor to be in the ring with them. Technically, we grew up watching them. Technically, they are inspirations and role models in the tag team division.”

Elton Prince added:

“Technically, we’ve looked up to them for years and think they’re brilliant.”

The former two-time NXT Tag Team Champions continued on to describe how The New Day ruined their lives.

Wilson: “However, the New Day came to NXT when they shouldn’t have and ruined our lives.”

Prince:  “We had our babies, didn’t we? Our babies, we carried them for months and months. Then they just took it away. Took it away. Took our joy away, took our purpose away.”

Wilson: “it’s been a downhill, downward spiral since.”

Prince: “it’s been a real rough journey. You know what hurts most? They know what they’ve done. There’s no remorse, there’s no regret, there’s no guilt. They’re off living their merry lives now. ‘Oh, let’s go down, ruin Pretty Deadly’s lives and then carry on as normal.”

Wilson: “I’ll say this. Maybe Kofi, recently [got hurt], I don’t want to say it, but it’s karma.”

Prince: “Maybe.”

Kofi Kingston recently shared an update following his ankle surgery, which you can read here.
