Private Party Pull A Major Upset On AEW: Dynamite

Tonight on AEW: Dynamite, Private Party faced off against The Young Bucks in a first round tag team tournament match.  The tournament will determine the first-ever AEW Tag Team Champions.

Many people assumed The Young Bucks would be the inaugural AEW Tag Team Champions.  However, the match didn’t turn out that way.

Private Party pulled up the huge, huge upset by defeating The Young Bucks clean.  The Young Bucks worked heel throughout the match.

They used underhanded tactics and pulled out veteran tricks to undermine Private Party.  However, Private Party overcame the odds and got a roll-up win.

While all for men shined in this match, Marq Quen stood out in this match.  When he got the hot tag, he hit a very impressive sequence of dives to the outside of the ring.

At one point, he hit a shooting star press that may have been the highest shooting star press I have ever seen.  The crowd was so hyped for this match.

The finish came when Matt Jackson had a sharp shooter locked in for ages. However, Private Party countered and hit the Gin and Juice.

That’s where the shooting star press hit.  However, Jackson kicked out.  It looked like The Young Bucks would win.

They set up for the Meltzer Driver.  Kassidy pulled Nick Jackson down before he could launch himself into the ring.  Quen rolled up Matt for the victory.

The Bucks lose nothing in the loss.  They’re moving on to feud with Santana and Ortiz of Inner Circle

However, Private Party gained a ton.  They will now move on to face the winner of The Lucha Brothers and Jurassic Express.

As a fan, I’m pulling for a Lucha Bros/Private Party match-up.  Yes, Please.  Although, Jurassic Express vs. Private Party would also be a lot of fun.
