The wrestling return of The Rock is something WWE and its fans have desired for a long time, and while he’s now 50-years-old, he’s still built like a carthorse and fitter than a…carthorse.
One of the main things stopping him from returning has been the unrelenting movie schedule he’s had for the past 10 years, but it seems a gap in his calendar may be coming up at a very opportune time.
According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, The Rock has no movie commitments at all for the first quarter of 2023. You know what is happening in the first quarter of 2023? That’s right, WrestleMania 39.
It has been noted numerous times by Dave Meltzer that Roman Reigns vs. The Rock is the plan for WrestleMania 39, and the match was even teased during a recent episode of Young Rock.
Not only will the gap in his movie schedule allow him to do a wrestle, but he’ll also need time to re-launch the XFL, which he and a number of business partners bought from Vince McMahon for $15 million in 2020.
