The merger of WarnerMedia Discovery has been a point of contention for many in regards to the future of AEW, but some promising news has arose.
As previously noted, WarnerMedia Discovery has made significant budget cuts in their scripted programming. This decision caused many wrestling fans to speculate that the future was uncertain for All Elite Wrestling.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Forum, AEW will have a big presence at the TV upfronts.
The upfronts are where shows, major advertisers and executives meet. The idea is for networks to show off their best programming so that advertisers can buy commercial time several months before the TV season starts.
All Elite Wrestling receiving a big push at the upfronts confirms that WarnerMedia is happy with them and bodes well for them when it comes time to negotiate a new contract.
We will have further updates on AEW and WarnerMedia’s relationship when it comes available.
