PWG Announces BOLA Matches

The annual Battle of Los Angeles is set to begin on September 14 and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has announced the tournament’s first round matches.

The single-elimination tournament’s first round matches will take place on the first two nights of the event with the following rounds taking place on night three. Past winners of the tournament include current IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega, NXT stars Ricochet, Adam Cole, and Kyle O’Reilly, and WWE star Sami Zayn.

Some of the most noteworthy participants in this year’s tournament are Timothy Thatcher and WALTER who are well known for their work in Europe. WALTER is the current PWG World Champion and has been rumored to have drawn interest from WWE. Also participating in the tournament is Jeff Cobb who recently fought NEVER Openweight Champion Hirooki Goto at New Japan Pro Wrestling‘s G1 Special in San Francisco.

The full cards for the first two nights can be found below. The card for night three will not be announced until after the first round matches have been decided.

Night one (September 14):

  • Non-tournament match: WALTER & Timothy Thatcher vs. Ilja Dragunov & Shingo Takagi
  • PCO vs. Brody King
  • CIMA vs. Jody Fleisch
  • Bandido vs. T-Hawk
  • Joey Janela vs. David Starr
  • Flamita vs. Puma King
  • Rey Horus vs. Adam Brooks

Night two (September 15):

  • Non-tournament match: Bandido, Flamita & Rey Horus vs. CIMA, Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz
  • WALTER vs. Timothy Thatcher
  • Travis Banks vs. Shingo Takagi
  • Ilja Dragunov vs. Jonah Rock
  • Jeff Cobb vs. Darby Allin
  • DJ Z vs. Robbie Eagles
  • Chris Brookes vs. Trevor Lee

Night three (September 16):

  • Non-tournament match: PWG Tag Team Champions The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) defending against The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix)
