After his return at WWE Money in the Bank on Saturday, R-Truth made an appearance during tonight’s June 9 episode of Raw.
Confirming word that emerged online in the aftermath of his MITB comeback, Truth notably announced a change to his name.
Truth essentially said that the R-Truth character was too silly and too nice, and he’s here to prove who he really is.
As such, he will now be using his real name Ron Killings.
Reports have suggested the name change is something Killings himself requested as a condition for him to return to WWE, as it means that when he does eventually leave the company for good, he can keep using the same name and it will have been established on WWE TV.
In addition to the name change, further driving his change in attitude home, Killings took out a pair of scissors and cut the locks out of his hair.
Killings was informed just over a week ago that WWE wouldn’t be renewing his contract, which led to a massive backlash from fans as well as WWE talent and personnel, essentially forcing the company’s hand into bringing him back.
Despite what Triple H claimed, the situation was legitimate and not “part of the show.”
Killings made a point tonight to tell the fans not to let anyone make them think their voices don’t matter, as they’re the real reason he was brought back.
We’ll keep you posted if any further details on Killings’ status and future with WWE emerge.
