An update has emerged regarding R-Truth’s next potential destination following the expiry of his WWE contract.
On June 1, WWE veteran R-Truth announced that he was exiting the company after almost two decades, with it later being reported that the company opted against renewing his contract.
Since the announcement there has been speculation regarding where Truth may land, with there said to have been “immediate interest” from top independent promotions.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that Truth’s former home, TNA Wrestling, is also interested in bringing him in.
Meltzer wrote:
Those in TNA have already said that they want to make him an offer
Truth previously spent five years in TNA Wrestling between 2002-2007, debuting under the name K-Krush, before establishing himself as Ron ‘The Truth’ Killings.
During his time in the company, he became a two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion as well as tag team champion on two occasions, once with BG James (Road Dogg) and another time with Pacman Jones.
According to Meltzer, WWE letting Truth go was a financial decision, with the his last contract said to be “so high” that the company decided it “made no sense” to retain him for the level he was being used.
