Top WWE Star Acknowledges ‘We Want R-Truth’ Crowd Chants WWE

A WWE star acknowledged the crowd chanting for R-Truth during Monday Night Raw, after the show went off the air.

With R-Truth announcing his WWE departure on June 1, the following night’s Raw episode saw the crowd chant “we want Truth” on a number of occasions.

These chants continued through to the show’s main event, which saw El Grande Americano defeat AJ Styles and CM Punk to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match.

With Seth Rollins, Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker attacking CM Punk, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso in the closing moments of the show, Punk, Zayn and Uso remained in the ring after the show went off the air.

CM Punk addressed the crowd on the microphone after the show went off the air, ahead of the fans once again chanting “we want Truth.”

Punk eventually addressed the chants, jokingly saying:

“Let the record state that I said how dare you chant for somebody who’s not here.”

You can watch a fan video clip of this moment – and everything that built up to it – below, or at this link.

This tongue in cheek comment also refers to the fact that WWE fans chanted Punk’s name for pretty much ten years after his final appearance during his last run with the company in January 2014.

Fightful recently reported that Truth’s exit has been the most criticized and disliked departure they’ve ever covered by far in terms of the reaction from people in the company to the decision.

John Cena has also reacted to Truth’s departure announcement, which you can read more about right here.
