Randy Orton Reveals His Wife Used To Hide That She Was Dating Him

This past week, WWE uploaded a roundtable-style interview with Randy Orton, Christian and The Miz to celebrate 40 years of the Intercontinental Championship.

It was a fun watch, but one of the more entertaining tidbits to come out of it was Randy Orton’s amusing story about how his wife used to hide the fact that she was dating him.

Some of Orton’s wife Kim’s family and friends were already wrestling fans, so she didn’t want to tell them that she was dating the Randy Orton, and would instead say she was going out to see “Sandy Norton”.

It’s genius, really.

“It’s funny because for a while there my wife, Kim, didn’t want to stooge off the fact that she was going to visit Randy Orton, so all the cousins and friends, when she was leaving—I was ‘Sandy Norton.’

“‘Where are you going, mom?’ Aw, I gotta go see Sandy. Sandy Norton.”

Orton’s only WWE Intercontinental Championship reign came at the end of 2003 into 2004 and spanned 210 days. He defeated Rob Van Dam for the title at Armageddon in December of 2003 in a match where Mick Foley was guest referee.

He dropped the title to Edge at Vengeance 2004 the following July.

The ‘Viper’ is set to challenge Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship this coming Sunday at Clash of Champions.

The two also squared off at SummerSlam on August 11, but the match ended in a double count-out so Kingston retained the title.

WWE has announced that Kingston will be appearing on this coming Tuesday’s SmackDown Live from Madison Square Garden, the site of one of his most iconic moments when he landed a Boom Drop on Orton himself through a table in 2009.
