Randy Orton WWE Return Match Confirmed

Randy Orton WWE Return Match Confirmed WWE

The first match back for Randy Orton after his WWE return at Elimination Chamber has been confirmed on tonight’s March 7 SmackDown.

Back in November, Kevin Owens landed a piledriver on Orton which wrote Orton off TV until he came back at Elimination Chamber this past weekend, looking for revenge on Owens.

Orton opened tonight’s SmackDown with messages for both John Cena and Owens, but later in the show, had a match announced against someone else entirely.

In a backstage segment, the new tag team of The Miz and Carmelo Hayes were in General Manager Nick Aldis’ office, with Miz pitching the debut of ‘Melo Don’t Miz TV’ as a talk show segment for next week.

Instead, it will just be Miz TV with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as the special guest, as Hayes will be occupied elsewhere on the show.

During the segment with Aldis, Randy Orton walked in, at which point Hayes said: “Randy Orton comes back hating after being on the couch for four months playing Fortnite”.

Orton responded: “Fortnite? Fortnite’s for kids, I was playing Elden Ring” – but the main news is that Orton and Hayes will have a match next week.

Next week’s SmackDown takes place in Barcelona, Spain, with other matches announced being Charlotte Flair vs B-Fab, and DIY defending the WWE Tag Team Championship against the Street Profits.

That’ll also be Flair’s first singles match since December 2023, as she hasn’t wrestled since her return in the Royal Rumble.
