Randy Orton has made an official announcement regarding his status for WWE WrestleMania 41 this weekend in Las Vegas.
Orton was originally set for a match against Kevin Owens at Mania, but it ended up being canceled due to Owens needing neck surgery.
Since then, Orton’s opponent has been up in the air, although it was pretty much guaranteed that he was planned for a match – it was just that there was no obvious replacement for Owens.
Last week on SmackDown, Orton made a hint towards Nick Aldis potentially returning to the ring to face him, and also got into an altercation with Solo Sikoa.
Tonight, Orton made it official that he will be issuing an open challenge on WrestleMania night two – so we still don’t know his opponent, but it’s official that he will indeed have a match.
Aldis and Sikoa would be the obvious options, with Sikoa unlikely considering it would be considered a bit of a let-down by most fans as the answer to an open challenge, which suggests it should be a surprise of some form.
Other possibilities that have been thrown around are new/returning WWE signings Aleister Black, Rusev and Jeff Cobb.
