Raquel Gonzalez is the new NXT Women’s Champion, after she defeated Io Shirai at NXT TakeOver Stand and Deliver in a very good match.
Gonzalez has been dominant for a long time in NXT, and it feels like a fitting way to finish her run, by defeating Shirai, who has been a dominant champion for so long.
Shirai pulled out all the stops, including jumping off the huge skull on the stage, but it wasn’t enough to take down the physically dominant Gonzalez.

You have to wonder what this means for Shirai, who may well be heading to the main roster as is often the case when a champion drops their belt in NXT.
Elsewhere on the show, WALTER retained his NXT UK Championship against Tommaso Ciampa in the match of the night, and MSK were crowned the new NXT Tag Champions when they won a triple threat for the vacant belts.
