WWE Star Describes Shift To NXT 2.0 As A Confusing Time In The Women’s Locker Room WWE

A WWE star has described the shift to NXT 2.0 as a confusing time in the women’s locker room.

When WWE NXT made the drastic shift to the NXT 2.0 era in the fall of 2021, several stars were either lost in the shakeup or saw their characters changed to fit the new direction.

Raquel Rodriguez was an established star on the NXT brand during the shift and would go on to lose the NXT Women’s Championship to Mandy Rose early on during the era.

Speaking with “The Ringer Wrestling Show” ahead of WrestleMania 39, Rodriguez described how she felt during the transition period. She said:

“It’s so hard to look that far ahead into the future, especially in the positions you’re put in where, you’re right, it was a very confusing time for us, especially us as women with the way the women’s division was changing and the direction it was suddenly going.”

“It was a very confusing time. I remember talking to IYO [SKY] in the locker room, just kind of figuring out what we were going to try to change or bring to the table or what we needed to do to stay in the picture.”

Shortly after last year’s NXT Stand & Deliver event, Raquel Rodriguez was called up to the main roster, joining the SmackDown brand. She has since challenged Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship and briefly won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships alongside Aliyah.
