A recent report discussed the backstage reaction to Drew McIntyre vs Kofi Kingston from last night’s episode of Raw.
On Monday, the two former WWE Champions fought for the right to face Bobby Lashley at Hell in a Cell. McIntyre won the match, earning himself a WWE Title shot.
During the match, Kingston and McIntyre traded stiff shots. As per PWInsider, the duo aimed to get over the importance of the future WWE Championship match. It was stated that McIntyre had a bruise under his left eye following the match, seemingly from a superkick from Kingston.
The report also noted that following the bout, many individuals backstage were praising the brutal contest.
McIntyre will once again challenge Lashley for the WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell. The pay-per-view airs on June 20 on Peacock and the WWE Network. Also at the event, Rhea Ripley will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair.
Money in the Bank in July will be the first WWE pay-per-view since WrestleMania to feature fans. As per a number of sources, tickets for the event are selling well.
SummerSlam was recently announced for Saturday, August 21. It was previously reported that WWE is considering having John Cena vs Roman Reigns on the show.
