On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the break-up of The IIconics may have played out as it to potentially allow for Billie Kay to be written off of WWE TV “for a while”.
During the show, Meltzer noted that Peyton Royce is going to get a push coming out of the break-up, but also noted that it is clear that WWE has nothing for Billie Kay at this time:
“It’s very clear that they have no plans for Billie Kay… Billie Kay might be going away and they know it”.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Peyton Royce defeated Billie Kay in singles competition. There was no animosity or turn from the former tag team partners, as the former champions actually embraced in the ring after the match.
Meltzer noted that this could be a way to write Billie Kay off TV. However, it’s important to note that he didn’t specifically say that this was the plan.
Rumours of a Peyton Royce singles push actually started last month, when Dave Meltzer reported that Vince McMahon highlighted Royce and Bianca Belair as singles stars in a meeting with management.
