Raw Viewership Down After Royal Rumble Boost

Raw Viewership Down After Royal Rumble Boost

The viewership for the February 4 episode of Raw was down almost 200,000 from last week, with an average of 2.509 million viewers. This is a decrease from the January 28 post-Royal Rumble edition last week that that pulled 2.703 million.

This week’s figure comes despite the prior announcement that Stephanie McMahon was inviting arguably WWE’s most over asset Becky Lynch to the show, in a segment that ultimately led to Lynch’s (storyline) suspension from WWE.

There was also the prospect of Jeff Jarrett’s first Raw bout since 1999 in taking on Elias, and Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley was set to defend against Finn Bálor. The latter never happened, and Bálor took on Lashley’s hype-man Lio Rush instead.

Kurt Angle was due to ‘address his WWE future’ in an angle that simply led to a predictable tag match with Angle and Braun Strowman taking on Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre.

The hourly breakdown for Raw viewership last night was as follows:

  • 8pm – 2.656 million
  • 9pm – 2.552 million
  • 10pm – 2.321 million
