Last night on Friday Night SmackDown, Naomi was drafted to Monday Night Raw. This was accompanied by the news that Jey Uso will be staying on Friday Night SmackDown, continuing his story with Roman Reigns.
While Jey Uso was drafted on his own and without his injured brother, it is likely that upon his full return to in-ring competition, Jimmy Uso will also be returning to Friday Night SmackDown to reunite The Usos tag team.
This unfortunately means that Jimmy Uso and his real-life wife Naomi will likely be on different brands moving forward, something that WWE tries to avoid with real-life couples.
This obviously isn’t an issue right now, as Raw and SmackDown are both off the road and being broadcast live from the Amway Center every week. However, if the brands begin touring once again, this could become a problem.
It is always possible that Naomi will be used on Raw until Jimmy returns and touring resumes, before either she or her husband swap brands so the couple can be together. Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on that.
Speaking of Naomi, a pre-existing faction on Monday Night Raw has teased that the former SmackDown Women’s Champion could be joining their ranks now that she’s a part of the red brand. You can find out more about that situation by clicking here.
Bianca Belair has swapped Raw for SmackDown as a part of the draft, so unless The Street Profits also move over to the blue brand, we could be set to see another real-life on different brands thanks to the draft.
