The real reason that AEW moved an upcoming pay-per-view event has now been revealed, with its date having changed multiple times.

ROH Death Before Dishonor was initially scheduled to take place on July 11 before being moved to September 5 earlier this year.

Last week, however, that September date was abandoned in favor of August 29, and the reason for the latest move has now been revealed.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has stated that the latest change of date was due to a personal commitment in the diary of Tony Khan.

According to Meltzer, Tony Khan had committed to attend a wedding on the previously announced September date.

With Khan having “never missed a TV”, he wouldn’t have been able to attend ROH Death Before Dishonor had it taken place on the original substitute date of September 5.

Tony Khan has previously stated that he has creative control over his product, although he does converse with AEW stars on a regular basis.

At the time of writing, no matches have been confirmed for ROH Death Before Dishonor, although the show will still take place at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
