Real Reason For WWE AJ Styles & Omos Split

Backstage details have emerged on AJ Styles and Omos’ split, revealing why the team was broken up on Monday’s edition of WWE Raw.

During this week’s show, Omos refused to tag into his bout against The Mysterios. After the match, Omos stood tall over Styles, telling the former WWE Champion that they’ll next see each other when they go one-on-one.

Styles vs Omos has since been announced for next week’s episode. As per WrestleVotes, WWE wanted the team to break up, and feud before the upcoming Royal Rumble and WrestleMania events.

Noting that there are significant creative plans for both Styles and Omos for the next few months, WrestleVotes tweeted:

“If it felt like they sped up the Omos & AJ Styles split, it’s because they did. Source says both superstars have significant plans in early 2022, and wanted any type of blow off program done prior to the major Rumble & Mania events.”

The Royal Rumble pay-per-view will air on January 29, ahead of WrestleMania 38 on April 2 & 3. Before both, WWE Day 1 will take place on January 1.

It had previously been reported that WWE originally planned to split Styles and Omos during the recent WWE Draft.
