Real Reason Big WrestleMania 37 Spot Was Scrapped

A recent report has discussed a big WrestleMania spot that was pitched, and the real reason the moment didn’t come to fruition.

Since the road to WrestleMania 36, Kevin Owens has fuelled speculation that he planned to dive off a Raymond James Stadium pirate ship. Some fans thought that this spot was more likely during this year’s event, as the WrestleMania 37 stage resembled a pretty jump-able vessel.

As per Fightful Select (subscription required), Owens genuinely expressed a desire to jump off of a ship to people backstage. While this moment ultimately didn’t happen, the weather was reportedly not the deciding factor.

It was reported that the match not being No Disqualifications was a big hurdle. Owens had reportedly discussed ideas with WWE creative, but the spot was never officially green-lit, because the WrestleMania set was a lot larger than initially anticipated.

Owens defeated his former friend Sami Zayn, before giving internet personality Logan Paul a Stunner on the Grandest Stage of Them All. After reflecting on his WWE appearance, Paul told his podcast subscribers that wrestling isn’t fake.
