The real reason why WWE higher-ups have made the decision to have former NXT star Damian Priest compete in longer matches on Monday Night Raw has been revealed by Dave Meltzer.
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that WWE is having Damian Priest have longer TV matches because they want to have Bad Bunny on screen for as long as possible.
Meltzer has revealed that the thinking is that if Damian Priest and subsequently Bad Bunny are on TV for longer periods of time, then more Hispanic viewers are likely to tune into the show:
“You know why? Because they think that the longer Bad Bunny’s out there, the more Hispanics are going to watch.
“I have seen zero evidence (of more Hispanic people watching during Bad Bunny segments). He does do well on YouTube.”

Bad Bunny is said to have impressed people within WWE with his respect for the product and industry. He has also been a massive hit with fans, outselling all current WWE Superstars in terms of merchandise.
