Real Reason For NXT Moving To Tuesday Revealed?

A new report has highlighted the possible reasons surrounding the reported NXT move from Wednesday nights to Tuesday nights.

It was recently reported that WWE plan to move NXT to Tuesdays in April. Many fans speculated that this was so NXT wouldn’t be in competition with AEW Dynamite, however this apparently isn’t the case.

As per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, NXT will be moving because of the NHL. He pointed out that USA Network would broadcast NHL on Wednesday nights, so it was likely that WWE was going to move NXT to a different day.

Here is the full quote:

Alvarez: “NXT will be moving to Tuesdays on the Tuesday after WrestleMania. It’s not been officially announced yet, but all but a done deal.”

Meltzer: “There’s always a chance that something can happen (for it to not move to Tuesdays). But this all has to do with the NHL, and when NBC Sports Network was dropped, the NHL’s Wednesday night and that’s gonna be on USA (Network), and most likely they were gonna have to move and that’s what happened. As far as what WWE does (on Wednesdays), I’m sure that they’ll do something because that’s what they do.”

The move has not been officially confirmed by WWE. AEW have already responded to the report, with Cody Rhodes noting that fans would be the real winners, during the AEW Revolution media call.

The date of the next NXT TakeOver has possibly been revealed, with the event date already set on the WWE Network.
