If you were too distracted by the return of the Modern Day Maharajah Jinder Mahal to notice that it was Jeff Hardy he was squashing, I completely understand.
The report is that Jinder is set for a big push, which will eventually see him take on former 3MB stablemate Drew McIntyre, in the feud at least one person has probably been dying to see.
But what about Jeff? Why is he suddenly being booked to lose to Jinder when he remains one of the most over people in the company?
Well, according to WrestlingNews.co, the reason is pretty simple. Jeff is simply not someone WWE is currently focusing on, and therefore is being put on the backburner for the time being. WWE’s mindset is likely that Jinder beating Jeff makes Mahal look like a dominant upper mid-card act.
The report added there was no intention to bury Jeff, and that any suggestion of WWE burying him because he’s leaving the company soon are simply untrue. Several reports suggest Jeff still has around two more years on his current deal, so he’s not going anywhere.
As for Jinder, he and his new buddies appear to be in for a good time on Raw, so I hope you’re all ready for another summer of Mahal.
