Here’s why Ricochet has been receiving a fair push in recent weeks on WWE SmackDown.
Ricochet last wrestled on the February 18 (taped February 11) edition of SmackDown, the former US Champion defeated Sheamus in singles action, despite interference from Ridge Holland.
The former US Champion has only lost one match since WWE Royal Rumble, losing a tag team bout to Sheamus & Holland after the Irishman pinned Cesaro, who has since left the company.
Per PWInsider, Ricochet is currently internally listed as the #2 singles babyface for the entire brand, behind Drew McIntyre. It was stated that the likes of The New Day and Shinsuke Nakamura are listed as part of tag teams internally.
Ricochet’s last singles defeat took place on the January 21 episode of SmackDown, losing to Sheamus after a competitive back-and-forth.
