Real Reason The IIconics Are Missing From WWE TV Revealed

The IIconics have not wrestled on WWE TV since June 17, where they defended their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss.

Since taking the titles from Sasha Banks and Bayley at WrestleMania 35, the Australian duo have only defended the belts twice on Raw, Smackdown or pay-per-view.

Many feel that the duo have not been on TV for the last month or so because WWE seemingly has nothing to do with the pair with regards to creative direction. However, the real reason for their absence might have just been revealed by Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer is reporting that Peyton Royce and AEW star Shawn Spears (formerly WWE Superstar Tye Dillinger) are due to get married in the next few weeks, and subsequently Royce has been given time away from the company to prepare for the big day.

This report certainly seems likely, as Tenille Dashwood (formerly WWE performer Emma) posted an image of herself, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay at Royce’s Bachelorette party in Las Vegas over the weekend.

There is no word on when exactly Royce and Spears are set to get married, and when the former NXT superstar is expected to make her return to WWE TV.

After defeating The IIconics at a live event Japan recently, Asuka and Kairi Sane have earned the right to face the champions in a title-match at some point in the future. There is no word no when this match is planned to take place.
