The reason why The Usos missed Friday’s (August 19) edition of SmackDown has potentially been revealed.
This week’s episode emanated from Montreal, Canada. During the show, Reigns appeared by himself, with Jimmy & Jey Uso notably absent.
In a backstage segment, Sami Zayn stated that The Usos were having ‘trouble at the border’, so wouldn’t be appearing on the show.
Sportskeeda has indicated that Jimmy Uso’s DUI history likely made it difficult for him to enter Canada, due to the country’s policy surrounding individuals with multiple DUIs. It is important to note that this hasn’t been confirmed.
Jimmy, real name Jonathan Fatu, was arrested for DUI in July 2021. He was booked on a misdemeanor DUI charge, and received citations for speeding and running a red light.
Fatu cut a deal with the prosecutors earlier this year to close the case, with part of the agreement requiring Fatu to complete multiple classes relating to the incident, which you can read more about right here.
The WWE Tag Team Champion had previously been charged with DUI in 2011 and 2019.
In the main event segment of SmackDown, Drew McIntyre dropped Roman Reigns with a Claymore kick and posed with Reigns’ championship title belts. McIntyre will challenge for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Clash At The Castle.

If you’re in the UK but didn’t manage to get tickets to Clash at the Castle on September 3, WrestleTalk is hosting a watch party at The Joiner on Worship in Shoreditch, London, and we’d love for you to join us! Click here for more details.
