WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam has discussed a possible reason why WWE might not want to work with him.
Van Dam last wrestled for WWE in August 2014, defeating Seth Rollins on Main Event.
Other than a one-off appearance for the 2019 Raw Reunion and his 2021 Hall of Fame induction, RVD hasn’t returned to WWE TV since.
Speaking on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling, the former WWE champion noted that he believes his laid back personality is in part responsible for his lack of recent WWE appearances:
“I think maybe that’s why WWE doesn’t really f**k with me that much. I don’t know, but I’m still wrestling, and I don’t want it bad enough to be (begging them). Even forwarding my own plans and ideas, ‘I’ll do this, I can work with this guy. We can do this and this.’ I don’t even want it that much. That’s not me. That’s not the way my brain works.”
“When I get a call and it says 203 (area code of Connecticut, WWE’s headquarters), it’s like, ‘Huh, I wonder if they want me to sign some merchandise.’ They’re not trying to book me to wrestle, but I still think sometimes, ‘Maybe it’s something about a pay-per-view, whatever.’”
RVD previously revealed that he reached out to WWE ahead of Royal Rumble 2022, offering to compete at the event. The Hall of Famer most recently wrestled in April for Greektown Pro Wrestling
