Real Reason WWE Keeps Mentioning Daniel Bryan On TV

A new report has detailed the real reason why WWE has been mentioning Daniel Bryan on TV in the past few weeks.

Since Edge’s recent return to SmackDown, Daniel Bryan’s name has been brought up frequently. Despite these mentions, Bryan is reportedly no closer to re-signing with WWE.

According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bryan is simply being used as the reason why Roman Reigns retained the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37. This is reportedly intended to legitimise Edge ahead of Money in the Bank.

Bryan hasn’t wrestled since his April 30 Universal Title match against Reigns. Last month it was reported that Bryan had been involved with talks between WWE and NJPW.

At the July 18 pay-per-view, The Rated-R Superstar will challenge Reigns in a singles match for the gold. This will be Edge’s first one-on-one title match since WrestleMania XXVII in 2011.

WWE returns to touring on July 16, ahead of Money in the Bank. The July 12 episode of Raw, the last of the ThunderDome era, has already been taped.
