Reason Alexa Bliss Pinned Ember Moon On SmackDown Revealed

On this past week’s episode of SmackDown Live, fans were shocked to see Ember Moon, the number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, take the pin in a tag match against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

Many assumed when this happened that Alexa would be inserted into the match to make it a triple-threat match, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this is not the case.

According to Meltzer, WWE had planned to do three Raw vs SmackDown matches on Tuesday night, and as Kevin Owens had to beat Drew McIntyre, and Kofi couldn’t lose in his match to AJ Styles, that left Ember Moon and Bayley to take the loss in their tag match.

Of course there’s no possible way they could have avoided this, like putting another SmackDown team up against Bayley and Ember, or just not booking the match, like any sane person would have done.

But anyway, that’s the reason and it’s yet more evidence that the world is a confusing and scary place.
