The reason Brock Lesnar was not on Raw, despite having been advertised by WWE for months in advance, has been revealed.
According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lesnar’s absence from Raw was not his decision, but rather WWE’s.
It seems creative had nothing for Lesnar. There were no more matches on his contract, meaning a showdown with Braun Strowman was off the table, and WWE did not want the focus to be on Lesnar in a featured role seeing as he is through with the company – for now – and will not be involved in storylines going forward. So there was no suspension, no beating, no split from Heyman, nothing.
Instead Brock was mentioned during a Heyman and Angle promo in which Kurt declared Lesnar would not receive a title rematch at Hell in a Cell, and that was that.
What an anti-climactic end to a build-up that has been in the words since Lesnar defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX over FOUR YEARS ago. Talk about squandering an opportunity.
