Did you know that the original plan was for Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins’ match to be much later on the WrestleMania card? No? Well now you do.
However, just before the show went on air, it was decided that it would in fact open the show, making it the first time ever that the Beast has opened a WWE PPV.
The reason for this, reports the Wrestling Observer Newslatter, is because Brock and Paul Heyman pushed for it, as they knew it would make the match better received. They believed putting it at the end of an already 7 hour long show would lessen the excitement somewhat.
It was originally scheduled to take place before the women’s triple threat main event, but was instead given the opening spot, ahead of what was originally reported to be Randy Orton vs AJ Styles.
Rollins won the match after a low blow and three curb stomps, and it looks like WWE will be without Brock for the time being while WWE thinks of another way to give him the championship in Saudi Arabia.
