The Reason Why MJF Didn’t Want A Fourth Dynamite Diamond Ring AEW

A new interview has revealed the reason why MJF didn’t want a fourth Dynamite Diamond Ring.

For the fourth time, All Elite Wrestling presented the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale to determine who would face MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring with Ricky Starks winning.

On the December 14 Winter Is Coming edition of AEW Dynamite, Maxwell Jacob Friedman defeated Starks to retain both the AEW World Championship and his diamond ring.

After the win, the champion was given his current ring and wasn’t presented with a new one like previous years.

Speaking with Fightful’s Stephen Jensen and Jeremy Lambert, the man who designed the third diamond ring, Diamond Sheik, revealed the reason why MJF didn’t want a fourth ring. He said:

“Let me tell you guys a story. I call up one of my good friends, Maxwell Jacob Friedman. I tell him, ‘Should we go ahead and design a fourth iteration of the diamond ring?'”

“He tells me, ‘Since I am AEW Champion, I don’t plan on losing that or the ring at all. You know what, my friend, don’t worry about it.”

“When I win it again, for a fifth time,’ he was super confident he was going to win it this time.”

“He said, ‘When I win it again for a fifth time, we’re going to do a five-year anniversary ring and we’re going to upgrade the hell out of it.’ You can look forward to that.”

Explaining how pleased Friedman was with the third ring, Sheik said:

“As far as this one goes, Max is super happy with the ring I made because, obviously, if you make something perfect and it ain’t broken, you don’t fix it.”

“He said it was such an upgrade over the last one and he loves it so much that he doesn’t even want to think of another ring right now and he wanted to keep it.”

“If Ricky had won the ring, I don’t know if there would have been a request to change it or not, but since Max kept it, he decided he was going to keep that one. He said it’s a very good size for doing what he has to do on a weekly basis, so he’s happy with it.”
