The real reason that WWE has been making so many NXT call ups lately has been revealed.
WWE has made a large number of NXT call ups in recent weeks, including names like Shotzi (Blackheart), Tegan Nox, Toni Storm and Doudrop (Piper Niven). According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer, Vince has made these call ups because he felt that there were no ‘new, fresh or exciting’ stars on the roster.
Meltzer said:
One person close to the situation noted exactly that, when the advances came in, Vince assessed it by saying there was nobody new, fresh or exciting on the roster and that’s when he went to NXT with the idea of freshening up the roster with new faces who would be pushed hard right out of the box (or until he gives up on some of them quickly).
WWE recently moved Mandy Rose to the NXT roster, with Aliyah being moved up to Raw in her place. The reason behind Aliyah being chosen has since been revealed.
