Reason Why AEW Talent Was Pulled From WrestleCon Revealed

Earlier this month, we learned that AEW talent was being pulled from WrestleCon over WrestleMania weekend.  Thanks to Joey Janela we now know why.

Janela spoke to Wrestling Inc. about the WrestleCon event.  While AEW stars like Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Nyla Rose, Kenny Omega, and Kris Statlanders are still advertised, Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin were pulled.

“On behalf of AEW, they’ve gotta do Philadelphia Comic-Con. That’s who was requested. If you’re gonna put anyone on a Comic-Con from AEW, I’m gonna put Darby Allin there. He’s over and we always knew he was gonna be over no matter where he went. He’s not only gifted in the ring but he’s gifted in every aspect. He’s gonna be a huge deal and we already know that. He’s a made man.”

Darby Allin will be facing Sammy Guevara this weekend at AEW: Revolution. We’ll see if the made man can get a victory over a Spanish god.

Janela also addressed whether or not he’d be getting an action figure:

“Who knows? If I don’t get fired by then. I can’t make any promises. I hope, that would be awesome. I actually talked to the action figure guy and he said they don’t know what hairstyle to do for me first. So, it’s in the works.”

Of course, if Janela does get an action figure, you’d have to imagine there would lots of accessories needed to complete the set. I’m sure it would have a table, chairs, and about 30 White Claws.

Janela is wrestling Kip Sabian with Penelope Ford tonight on AEW Dark.

Thanks to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription of the interview.
