The entire Mysterio family was not part of Friday Night SmackDown this week. Rey, Dominik, Aalyah and even Murphy have been regular fixtures on SmackDown since moving over from Raw in the draft.
Ringside News is now reporting that the aforementioned talent were on the SmackDown show last week simply because WWE creative didn’t have anything for them and didn’t book them for the show:
We were told that it wasn’t an issue of getting time off for the Holidays or “hanging around backstage.” It was simply a matter of WWE not booking them to be there last week.
It is likely that upon their return to TV, WWE is going to book a six-man tag team match between Rey & Dominik Mysterio and Murphy against King Corbin and The Knights of the Lone Wolf (Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake).
It is likely that as we approach TLC, and with the Mysterio family unlikely to have a match at the show, WWE dedicate time on SmackDown to those that are going to be working at the pay-per-view this weekend.
