The real reason why a last minute change was made to an announced championship match in WWE has been revealed.
On last week’s episode of WWE NXT, the Rascalz duo of Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel of TNA were victorious against Gallus and Hank Walker and Tank Ledger to earn a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championship.
The match between the Rascalz and the champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom was set for tonight’s episode of the show, but that has since been changed.
Last night, NXT General Manager Ava announced that the match would now be Axiom and Frazer defending against the Street Profits.
In an update on the change from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the match was changed due to Trey Miguel having to undergo unexpected minor surgery on Sunday.
Wentz was victorious over Wes Lee at NXT No Mercy.
Tonight’s episode of NXT will also feature the WWE in-ring debut of Giulia, when she faces off against Chelsea Green.
Another title match will see Charlie Dempsey defend the Heritage Cup against Je’Von Evans.
