The reasons behind Jade Cargill’s reported legitimate backstage heat with another WWE star have been revealed.

Earlier today (March 7) it was reported that a confrontation between Jade Cargill and WWE Raw star Shayna Baszler had taken place several months ago, prior to Cargill’s recent injury absence.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cargill had rubbed many in the women’s division the wrong way, with Baszler in particular wanting to fight Cargill before management intervened.

At the time there was no specific details regarding what had caused the issues between Cargill and Baszler, but it was noted that the issue wasn’t caused by just one thing, and that the timeframe of the problems occurred during Cargill and Bianca Belair’s matches against Baszler and Zoey Stark over the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Now in a new update from Fightful Select further details have been learned, revealing specifics behind the incidents that led to Cargill’s heat with Baszler and others in the locker room.

According to Fightful, WWE talent had initially kept quiet about the incident between Cargill and Baszler shortly after the former AEW star was written off television in November.

However, since then it has been claimed that Cargill took issue with something that had unfolded, leading to her saying something to the effect that Baszler needed to “learn how to work”.

The issue reportedly stemmed from a moment during their match at WWE Clash at the Castle in June 2024, where Cargill tapped out in what wasn’t meant to be the finish of the match.

As well as this, a recent promo video for Cargill’s return to WWE directed by Ricky Saints also reportedly led to a lot of discussion within the locker room, specifically Jade’s line in which she said she was “demanding respect” whilst being surrounded by wolves in the shape of women all around her.

According to the report at least one WWE talent told Fightful that this reference was taken personally by several in the locker room, as they had previously kept the situation between Cargill and Baszler quiet.

Cargill’s recent three month absence also reportedly saw her receive heat in the locker room, as talent had heard that Jade had requested time off for the holiday tour, but in response was told that the tour was mandatory.

Following this request Cargill suffered an injury that several on the roster questioned the validity of, leading to several reports stating that she was not legitimately injured.

However, WWE higher ups told Fightful that Cargill’s injury was legitimate, and she was in fact willing to return to action sooner than she eventually did.

Instead the company opted to keep Cargill off TV so she could get cleared by their team, which led to her being able to do additional training at the Performance Center before returning.

We will provide further updates on the situation as more information becomes available.
