Former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey recently departed WWE, losing her final match to Shayna Baszler back at SummerSlam in August.
Since then, Rousey has not appeared in wrestling, even indicating on her social media that she was retired.
However, Rousey made her in-ring return at the Lucha VaVOOM event in Los Angeles earlier today, where she teamed with AEW star Marina Shafir to face Taya Valkyrie and Brian Kendrick.
Taking to Instagram, Rousey commented on her return to the ring, sharing videos from the match.
She wrote:
@luchavavoom was honestly the best Lucha/burlesque hybrid show I’ve ever had the pleasure of jumping into unannounced. Anyone who doubted me and @marinashafir could make magic in a ring is an idiot – thank you @thetayavalkyrie and @mr.briankendrick for being down to get down with us 🙏🏼❤️🤼
Ronda left WWE earlier this year, with her trigger an ‘out’ clause in her contract that allowed her to leave following her match with Baszler at SummerSlam.
