REELZ has released a statement on the future of MLW Underground.
On March 1, Peacock announced the addition of the live linear stream of the REELZ channel. However, the feed will not include MLW Underground, which airs on Tuesdays at 10PM EST due to Peacock’s deal with WWE.
The channel just announced that MLW was joining their schedule in January 2023.
Per Variety, MLW’s deal with REELZ wraps up after ten weeks. With the debut episode on February 7, only four episodes have aired so far with the current agreement.
On Thursday, REELZ issued an official statement to PWInsider regarding the future of Major League Wrestling on their channel. It reads:
“No decisions have been made by MLW or REELZ and we are both committed to a good outcome for MLW, its fans and REELZ.”
The third episode (February 21) of MLW Underground drew 97,000 viewers. Meanwhile, this past Tuesday’s edition did not rank in the top 150 on cable.
We will have further updates and news in regards to this ongoing story when they become available.
