A referee being taken out in the AEW Dynamite main event tonight (June 7) led to a controversial finish to the show with Ricky Starks taking on Jay White.
After the referee was knocked down, he wasn’t able to count the apparent pin for Ricky Starks as he made the cover on White and likely would have won, but the chicanery didn’t end there.
Austin and Colten Gunn snuck out to ringside to attack Ricky Starks (since notably, Juice Robinson and FTR were banned from the area) leading to a controversial finish.
After the ambush, Jay White picked up the victory over Starks in dubious fashion, so it seems unlikely that their feud is over.
Despite that, the next stop for White and Robinson is the June 17 debut of Collision, where they’ll team with Samoa Joe against CM Punk and FTR.
Elsewhere on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, there was a big International Championship Match between Orange Cassidy and Swerve Strickland and a big TBS Championship defense for Kris Statlander.
Also, MJF name dropped Vince McMahon as he faced off with a potential future opponent and the main event for the first AEW Collision.
