Rejected NXT Main Roster Call-Up Revealed (Exclusive)

Last week, it was reported that Matt Riddle would be heading up to the main roster very soon after his Cage Fight with Timothy Thatcher on the 05/27 episode of NXT. Two days later, Kurt Angle announced that Riddle was the newest member of the SmackDown roster.

Also last week, WrestleTalk’s Louis Dangoor was able to confirm that Dominik Dijakovic will be heading to the main roster too. Dave Meltzer has since confirmed the report, adding that Dijak will be mixing it up with guys like Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins and WWE Champion Drew McIntyre on Raw.

That is not all, as Louis Dangoor was also able to confirm this week that Chelsea Green has been discussed as a potential main roster call-up, explaining her rushed split with manager Robert Stone. While plans are less concrete than Dijakovic and obviously Riddle, Green is expected to appear on either Raw or SmackDown fairly soon.

Our sources at WrestleTalk have also been able to confirm that another top NXT star was discussed as a potential call-up, but will almost certainly be remaining down in NXT now.

There have been reports that Velveteen Dream is heading up to the main roster, and our sources have confirmed that while he was discussed as someone to potentially bring up, higher-ups in both WWE and down in NXT have made the call to keep the former North American Champion with the black and gold brand for the time being.

There is no word on why a Dream call-up was rejected at this time, so make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com at this time.

Last night at NXT TakeOver: In Your House, Velveteen Dream was unsuccessful in his attempt to wrestle the NXT Championship away from Adam Cole in a match that was pre-taped. As such, Dream cannot challenge for the title again while Cole is champion.
